Yes, WalMart Should Pay Its Workers More, But....


This was standard fare in the mid-80s military. First Sergeants Association and SNCOA members gave a bounty basket to all married A1Cs and below during the holiday season. I remember feeling embarrassed the first year. The second and final year I received a bounty basket, I was so grateful; we were broke. That early outreach played a part in my decision to stay for 21 years.

Yes, WalMart should pay a living wage. Yes, we should shoulder the higher prices for a living wage. But what this WalMart is doing is nothing novel, and it certainly is not news worthy.
